Minutes of Annual General Meeting – 12th January, 2009

1. MINUTES OF LAST MEETING.    The minutes of the Annual General Meeting held on 14th January, 2008 were read and approved.

2. CHAIRMAN’S REPORT.     The Chairman thanked everyone, including the volunteers, for doing a wonderful job.  The show seems to be getting better each year and the extra volunteers this year made all the difference.  Without them, the show could not go on.  He felt that they should all be kept informed of arrangements over the year.   Thanks again are due to June, Gwyneth and Dick for all the organising, fund raising and advertisements.

3. SECRETARY’S REPORT.    June said that the Village was keen on the show and would back it and help on the day.  St. John’s Ambulance said that this was the best organised show in the area.   Word of mouth was spreading and we had received many compliments.   The helpers had appreciated the card which was sent to them at Christmas.  A start has already been made on the 2009 show.

4. TREASURER’S REPORT.   Glyn circulated a balance sheet which was self-explanatory.  The accounts had not yet been audited, but would be in the near future. He gave a big thanks to everyone on the Committee, particularly Gwyneth, Dick and June.   He said it cost around £7500 to put the show on.  The gate and raffle had been up by £517. 

5. ELECTION OF OFFICERS.  

CHAIRMAN:  Tony Birch was nominated by June, seconded by Lynne
VICE CHAIRMAN:  David Shillito was nominated by Tony, seconded by Jackie
SECRETARIES:  Gwyneth nominated all four present Secretaries to stand again.
Seconded by Tony i.e.  June Row, Lynne Morley, Jackie Bradbury and Eluned Ellis.
TREASURER:  Glyn Davies was nominated by Dick, seconded by Dewi.
FIELD MANAGER:  Ernie Bradbury was nominated by Dick, seconded by Glyn.
FUND CO-ORDINATOR:  Gwyneth was nominated by Lynne, seconded by Dave.

6. PRESIDENT 2009:

Suggestions were made for the 2009 President.  They were Neville Williams and Ieuan Jones.

The date of the next Annual General Meeting will be 11th January 2010
