Minutes of Annual General Meeting – 11th January, 2010

1. MINUTES OF LAST MEETING.    The minutes of the meeting held on 12th January, 2009 were agreed and signed as a true record.

2. CHAIRMAN’S REPORT.   The Chairman thanked everyone for all the hours they had put in to make the Show a success, including the Secretaries, Gwyneth, June and Dick and Nita.  He also praised the volunteers for their hard work, and our “Sparkie”, Brad.   Thanks to Derek too, as the web site gets us out into the world. 

3. SECRETARY’S REPORT.    June said that one of the bonuses of the web site was the gift of £500 which was unexpectedly received from Mr. Alan Salisbury.  Comments received had stressed how fantastic this year’s Show was.   Systems which were now in place were working well.    We still really need more help on the day and need to advertise this fact.   Without some younger help, too much strain is being placed on the older members of the committee.  However, it was a very successful day.

4. TREASURER’S REPORT.  Glyn reported that the financial situation was similar to the previous year, except for the grant of £3708 from Awards for Wales and the donation of £500.  Because of the hall renovations, there had been more expenses.  Tent hire had cost £10078.69, toilet hire £334.65, new equipment £749.95 and the new tent which was £1891.75.   The Bank balance was £864.45 less than last year, standing at £7282.63.   He thought that the gate money was around £100 down on the previous year.  The accounts had still to be audited.

5.  ELECTION OF OFFICERS

CHAIRMAN:              Tony Birch was nominated by Lynne, seconded by Gwyn
VICE CHAIRMAN:   David Shillito was nominated by Lynne, seconded by Gwyn
SECRETARIES:      Gwyn nominated all four Secretaries to be appointed for a
                                     further year, ie. June Row, Lynne Morley, Jacky Bradbury and Lin Ellis.
TREASURER:         Glyn Davies was nominated by Dave, seconded by Gwyn.
FIELD MANAGER: Ernie Bradbury was nominated by Tony, seconded by June
FUND CO-ORDINATOR:  Gwyneth was nominated by Lynne, seconded by Jacky.

6. PRESIDENT 2010

Gwyneth suggested Dr.Richard Griffiths.   It was agreed by the Committee that he should be approached.
