PRESENT:             Tony Birch ( Chairman)
                              Lynne Morley ( Minutes)
David Shillito,  June Row, Ruth North,
Ernie Bradbury,  Jacky Bradbury,   Alan Duff

APOLOGIES:        Dick Row, Anita Duff, Gwyneth Watkin.

1. MINUTES OF LAST MEETING.    The minutes of the meeting held on 3rd August, 2010 and of the Special Meeting held on 21st September, were agreed and signed as a true record.

2. MATTERS ARISING:
2010 Show
(a)The dog grooming table was perfect and proved an asset to the dog show.  Alan was thanked for his help in its acquisition.
(b) The advert in the Newsletter had proved successful in bringing about some extra helpers.
(c) Unfortunately, the idea of the Venture Scouts helping did not work out.
(d) The Fly Fishing proved a great success as did the Model boats.   It was a lot of work to set up the boating lake, but was a great attraction on the day.  Unfortunately a remote control went missing.  This prompted a suggestion that in future it should be pointed out that we cannot be held responsible for the safety of equipment brought to the field by groups.
(e) The cookery demonstrations were well attended.
(f) The Model Plane group was happy to come again, as was Close Encounters.
(g)The children enjoyed seeing the Fire Engine on the field.
(h) The Dog Show was a resounding success with more entries than ever.  Unfortunately, some people were still trying to enter well after the Show had commenced.
(i) The Flatville Aces have been rebooked.
(j) Correspondence  June had received a complimentary letter from Maureen, the Spinning Lady and one from the School thanking us for £50 towards help with the car-parking.  June had also received several e-mails praising the Show.
(k) Food The Hog roast was a sell out and the Food Tent was very successful.
(l) Some planning needs to be done regarding the situation of the generators next year and the field may need to be redesigned.
(m) Alan was thanked for putting up the banners which were unfortunately taken down by the County Council Highways Department.  They have since been returned.  Consideration to be given to a new sign being made for next year, on wooden posts.
(n) Judges It may be necessary next year to split the Horticulture into Flowers and Vegetables because of the large entry.

3.  ANY OTHER BUSINESS.
(i)   After Show Get-Together.   Tony has received 36 acceptances.
(ii)  There are still five day-glo jackets to be returned.
(iii) Fund Raising
It is essential that we raise some funds.  We need to try for a further grant for next year, and also come up with some money-raising ideas.  It was suggested that an item is included in the Newsletter asking for some thoughts on this.

DATE OF NEXT MEETING AND ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING  - 18th January, 2011.
