(a)  Judges are as recorded, with the addition of Laura Hughes for Art.
(b)  A tent is being made to cover the stage units .  The frame is galvanised and will be easy to dismantle and the cover is white with a scallop surround.  It is felt that we should not let this out to other groups unless our own people erect and dismantle it for a small fee.  June has cancelled one of the Bandstands in lieu of using the new awning.
(c)  Nita and Dick were officially thanked for their work in obtaining a grant from Awards for All Wales for £3,708.00  towards new equipment, including a generator and radio mikes, together with the cost of hiring toilets and extra insurance.   Mick Bates presented the cheque to the President, Neville Williams, prior to the meeting. (See below)
(d)  The Ifton Colliery Band was not prepared to commit.  June was exploring other possibilities.

3. CHEESE AND WINE EVENING

A list was circulated for committee members to state which items of food they would provide.   The Hall will still be available for this event.   Members were asked to be at the hall for 2pm. to set up.
4.  ANY OTHER BUSINESS
(a)  The Village Hall committee had asked to borrow the gazebos and P.A. for their May Day celebrations.   This was agreed.
(b)  Groups who use the Hall are being asked to apply for grants for equipment.
The Show Committee would consider applying for a grant for a commercial fridge.
(c)  A cheque had been received from the Community Council for £300.

DATE OF NEXT MEETING .  Tuesday 30th June, at 7.30 p.m.   Please note that this meeting will probably be held at the School.

Presentation of Cheque from Awards for Wales

Mick Bates AM was delighted to come to Llanfechain to present a cheque for £3,708 from Awards for All Wales. He said that it was always a pleasure to support groups who worked hard voluntarily for the benefit of their community.  This years President, Neville Williams, accepted the cheque on behalf of the Show Committee and also praised the group for their commitment to improving the Show each year.  The money will fund much needed new equipment and will also help towards the promotion of the event which takes place on August Bank Holiday Monday.  Joint Funding Co-ordinator, Dick Row, said that he and Nita Duff had found the grant application process simple and straightforward.
