Minutes of General Meeting – 30th June, 2009

1. MINUTES OF LAST MEETING.    The minutes of the meeting held on 30th June were agreed and signed as a true record.

2. MATTERS ARISING:
 (a) Equipment. 
A generator has been ordered and Dick has purchased a lapel radio mike.   Alan has seen a kit for £100.  They are to liaise to find the best system.
June suggested that spot lights would be useful and it was decided to ask the tent people if they had these available for loan.
(b) Cookery Demonstration
There are to be two Cookery demonstrators.   Jennifer Sly, an American lady, is to have two half hour slots, for American cuisine.   Louise Powell will demonstrate the preparation of family food for an hour in between.  Louise has asked for £30 and it was agreed to give the same amount to Jennifer for her chosen charity the RABI.
All the kitchen equipment has been booked including a cooker and washing and hand-washing facilities.  
(c) Tents are to be erected on Friday.
(d) After Show Party.   The date was changed to 19th September.
(e) Willow Lady is not available for the show.
(f) Jazz Band will be starting a little later than usual.
(g) Publicity.   Banners have been erected and there are three more signs to be put up.   The Village signs are being repaired and repainted.   Nita has produced posters and will also do fliers.
(h) Stewards are all organised.   The Committee were asked to contribute food and raffle prizes.

4. PRESIDENT’S GIFT
This was agreed.

5.  ANY OTHER BUSINESS
Arrangements for Setting up.   The Committee and helpers are to meet at 2pm. on Saturday and be available all day Sunday.
Entries night is Wednesday 26th August at 7p.m. at the school.
