Minutes of General Meeting – 3rd August, 2010

1. MINUTES OF LAST MEETING.    The minutes of the meeting held on 29th June, 2010 were agreed and signed as a true record.

2. MATTERS ARISING:
(a) Alan has collected the dog grooming table which is now available for the Show.
(b) Tony has been trying to contact Malcolm Smith to arrange for the Venture Scouts to help on the day, but is having some difficulty getting an answer.
(c)  Derek has e-mailed Ents24.com and Broadsheep.com but has received nothing from them as yet.
(d) The Cookery and Flower Arrangement demonstrators have confirmed, as have the Fly Fishing people who will give a demonstration and then let people try for themselves.   Half the money made by them will go back to the Show funds.
(e) The overhead projector is to be organised.  Lighting may have to be adjusted this year as this caused a problem at the last Show.
(f)  The model aeroplane club may still attend but will not be flying the planes because of insurance problems.   Tony had been trying to arrange for a model boat club to come but this is proving difficult.
(g)  The Fire Brigade will bring their new Fire engine, provided they are not called out on the day.

3.  ANY OTHER BUSINESS.
(i)    Gwyneth said she was five stewards short at present and also needed volunteers for the gate and the raffle.    We are now desperate for some extra help for erecting equipment and doing some of the heavier work.  It was suggested that Nita could include a request for help in the Village Newsletter.
(ii)   Judges’ lunches would be provided by the Plas-yn-Dinas as usual, whilst the Committee would organise sandwiches and cakes for the stewards.
(iii)  The Committee would arrange times for setting up equipment, at the Entries night before the Show.
(iv)  It was agreed provisionally that the After Show Party be held on Saturday 25th September.
(v)   The Hog Roast man is expected to bring his own generator this year
(vi)  The outside plugs are situated in the boiler house and will need checking.
(vii)  Alan is to erect the Show banners in the next few days.
(viii) Peter Lloyd as been approached to cover security overnight.
(ix)   St. John’s Ambulance has been organised.
(x)    Tony asked that thanks once again be given to Nita for the very professional job she has done on posters and fliers.

DATE OF NEXT MEETING - 21st September, 2010, primarily to discuss the After Show Party.
