1. MINUTES OF LAST MEETING. The minutes of the meeting held on 11th January, 2010 were agreed and signed as a true record.
2. CHAIRMAN’S REPORT. Tony remarked that success was due to the efficiency of the people organising the show and said that thanks was owed to everyone involved. The show seems to be gaining momentum each year and is so popular that our ideas are being poached by other organisations, which proves that we are in fact groundbreakers. A pat on the back is due to all the committee members. The field programmes were a great success as was the dog show and Tony gave thanks to the organisers of this event. He said that we still need more help, despite having some new faces at this year’s Show. He again thanked everyone and hoped success would continue in the coming year.
3. SECRETARY’S REPORT. June first of all thanked the Chairman for his contribution. We were grateful for the extra helpers this year which made a big difference, especially to her own workload. The beautiful weather was certainly a contributor to what was, without doubt, a fantastic Show. It was good to see some younger people helping over the weekend and to see the villagers taking part on the day of the Show. Sixty two people actually helped on the day. June pointed out that we are going to need to do some fundraising this year to boost our funds.
4. TREASURER’S REPORT. Expenditure over income for 2010 was £2575.13. This, of course, was mainly due to the lack of grants. We still have a healthy bank balance of £4799.35 so we are in a good position for this year’s Show. However we need to raise some money as the expenditure is creeping up each year. Entertainment cost approximately £273 more and the Insurance and tents were more expensive. However, the gate and raffle were up £300 on last year and there were more entries. Fundraising activities, i.e.Bingo and the Cheese and Wine evening, were down. Glyn thanked Gwyneth for raising so much income.
5. ELECTION OF OFFICERS
CHAIRMAN: Tony Birch was nominated by Lynne, seconded by June.
VICE CHAIRMAN: David Shillito was nominated by Glyn seconded by Gwyn.
SECRETARIES: Gwyn proposed that all four Secretaries be appointed for a further year, i.e. June Row, Lynne Morley, Jacky Bradbury and Lin Ellis. Seconded by Tony.
TREASURER: Glyn Davies was nominated by Dewi, seconded by June.
FIELD MANAGER: Ernie Bradbury was nominated by Dewi, seconded by Derek
FUND CO-ORDINATOR: Gwyneth was nominated by Lynne, seconded by Tony.
6. PRESIDENT 2010.
